A Note From Our Owner

My name is Lee Franklin Jr. I was born and raised in the 7th ward of New Orleans. I moved to Omaha after Hurricane Katrina. I’ve always had a passion for cooking since I was eight years old, I learned to cook from my mom and grandmother. After trying a couple of the Cajun restaurants in Omaha, I realized there was a need for authentic New Orleans cuisine.

On July 13th 2013, me and my business partner, Montoya Johnson, introduced A Taste of New Orleans to Omaha. On July 3rd 2020, I opened A Taste of New Orleans Creole Café inside of Ted & Wally’s in Benson. I fell in love with Omaha my first years here and we’re very thankful for yall’s support for the past seven and a half years, and we look forward to many more!
